Hawking

Hawing means hunting with birds of prey on game. According to the size and ability of the hawk and to the training you will hawk on different prey - with sparrow hawk on magpies or partridges, with a peregine or saker from partridges to birds of the size of a heron. To hawk on hares goshawk and golden eagle are the specialists. Together with sighthounds falcons are even able to hunt gazelles.

In Austria hawking is allowed only with actual hunting licence and in the appropriate hunting area. In Germany you need additionally a special falconry exam.
